Freja's Cats

Neither Roman nor Greek mythology mentions a lion like creature with wings. Although in Norse mythology, which originates from the ancient Viking community, Freja the Goddess of love and beauty has a connection with these mysterious felines.  It is said that Freja had a gold chariot that was drawn by two horse-sized winged cats usually blue in color. It is unknown to why the myths of a distant culture appear periodically in Roman art.
